Use the web interface on an Elite recorder
The Elite web interface runs live view, playback, and backup in Internet Explorer. It needs a compatibility setting and ActiveX controls allowed before it will log in.
Elite SeriesElite recorders (Internet Explorer on Windows, Safari on Mac)
Before you start
- You know the recorder's IP address
Steps
Use Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer, not Edge, Chrome, or Firefox, and run it as administrator so it can write backup files to your computer.
Enter the recorder's IP
Type the recorder's IP address into the address bar and allow the plugin install prompt at the bottom of the window.
Add the IP to Compatibility View
Click the tools wheel, open Compatibility View Settings, and add the recorder's IP address there.
Allow ActiveX controls
From the tools wheel, go to Internet Options, Security, Custom Level, set Download Unassigned ActiveX Controls to Prompt, then refresh the browser.
Log in and view cameras
Log in with your recorder's username and password, then choose a layout, or click Open All to load every camera at once.
Play back recorded footage
Click Playback, select the camera and a date highlighted blue on the calendar, then use the timeline slider to jump to a specific time.
Download a backup clip
In Playback, open File List, then More, and search by file or by time. Click Download to Local and choose the DAV format.
Play the backup file
Install the Elite Series Smart Player from Support, then Downloads, on securitycameraking.com, then open or drag the downloaded file into it to play it back.
This only works in Internet Explorer or Safari on a Mac. Edge, Chrome, and Firefox aren't supported.
